Who Can Join
Membership is open to:
Professionals, researchers, or practitioners at academic institutions, think tanks, research institutes, or other organizations.
Graduate students (Master’s or PhD) and postdoctoral fellows conducting research or study on China.
Individuals working on China-related projects, policy, or comparative/global research.
Inclusivity
SSSSOC welcomes scholars based in all global regions.
The Society actively encourages membership from scholars at liberal arts colleges, minority-serving institutions, and underrepresented groups in the field.
Commitment to SSSSOC’s Mission
Members should support SSSSOC’s goals of fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, bridging methodological and generational divides, and advancing inclusive, rigorous scholarship on China.
Members are encouraged to participate in Society activities, including the annual meeting in conjunction with AAS, online forums, and collaborative initiatives.
